This tracker will increase your solar input by quite a large percentage (30-55%). It follows the sun every half an hour to maximize the efficiency of your panels. Considering the cost of mounting panels properly even on a static mount, this unit is a must buy. For pumping you will get many more hours per day by using a tracker.

Efficiency use of tracker depends on the latitude of the region and time of season: in New South Wales at summer time maximum increase of daily energy output is 55%, in Tasmania at winter daily energy  gain reduces to 30%.

• MOSFET transistors make Control Unit more reliable compared to the conventional units on relays.
• During accelerated tests tracker performed 4,000 tracking cycles, representing 11 years of field operation. Little wear only has been observed on components of the driving unit.
  

We have been testing & using a Sunflower Tracker for a little while. We have noted a marked increase in energy input from our panels. The unit has prooved reliable so far  - though did take quite some adjustments upfront. We found the instruction manual for assembly inadeuate - but that may have been due to the fact the manual is designed for the STD12 & we bought the STD16. We recommend people use & buy the STD12 as the larger 16 model needs a very expensive double pole mount at the bottom. Each tracker needs a mounting pole that you supply. The 2 poles needed for the larger STD16 make the unit too expensive to install & two smaller units would be a better option. We also found that support reply emails took too long & were not informative. For now we are selling this tracker at a lower rate than the manufacturer and will provide better support for our customers.
